The Air Jordan 4 was first teased on the cover of Sports Illustrated in the the “Black Cement” & “White Cement” color ways. The Sneaker made its much anticipated debut at the 1989 NBA All-Star Game on the feet of Michael Jordan. Not too long after the shoe was released to the public at a retail price of $110. Along with the “Air Jordan 3” Tinker Hatfield also designed the Air Jordan 4’s. He added a molded layer of urethane-coated mesh, with the idea of making it more breathable.
